Retro Cars this Time

Hello again I am loving making these Artist wallets, this one has a spotty handle making it really easy for little hands to transport around. I think more will be coming this week, I have a craft fair on the 9th April so I will be showing these off there.

Artist wallet !

Good evening all I have had a just fab couple of days pottering round the house and garden, going for long walks with the monkeys, seeing a deer when we were out and sewing. So what do you think of this. Its an artist wallet and I am thinking of making these babies for my craft fairs. I love the idea of having the paper as well as the crayons. They could of course be substituted for gel pens/pencils. The handy pockets are great for stickers and rulers. Another option for the artist on the move. I would love some feedback on these. You can purchase this one at my Misi shop. The link is at the top right hand side of my blog page.

Happy Monday.

Direction ?????

Good morning all. Did you remember about the clocks going back? Hubby is working so I was up really early but I am still unorganised.
Recently my thoughts (in between all the madness) have been on direction. Where should I aim for? how should I get there? and what should I not do. I have a confusing array of options and at the moment I am trying to focus on what I want to achieve with the business. It feels like I am standing at the fork in the road, And have been feeling a little pressurised by certain forces. It can be difficult to remain true to founding principles when cheap imports and poor quality products flood the handmade market. But I have concluded that my business will grow and develop and that I will not loose my focus. I will continue to create totally unique, high quality and innovative products and that my customers past present and future will appreciate that handmade truly handmade, made with love and care and attention is worth its weight in gold.

Sometimes getting your thoughts written down can be cathartic I hope you will indulge me this morning.
Happy Sunday.

Little Purses

Good morning all how are you? Today I sent 3 of my little chickens off to school with a little zipper purse. Each child had a collection of coins from their pocket money contained in the purse. The money is to be spent at the egg extravaganza which their school is hosting. There will be games, secondhand books and toys and lots more fun things to spend their pennies on. All the money raised is going towards helping a girls orphanage in Africa. The orphanage keeps hens and uses the eggs to provide and income . What a fantastic cause and I am delighted my chickens are taking part.

When I came home I couldn't resist make a few more little purses they are soo dinky and I love them.

Happy Thursday.

Royal Highland Show 2011

I received some exciting news this week. My application to exhibit at the royal Highland Show in the 3d 2d Craft tent has been accepted. I am delighted to have been selected at such a prestigious show. The preparation has already started lists are being written and plans drawn up. My creative juices are flowing and I am in heaven. It is going to mean a lot of juggling the show is at the end of June so the school diary is bursting with activities so I am preparing not just for the show but end of school too. I will have to make sure teachers gifts are made and wrapped, my ever supportive hubby will be taking time off work to look after our little monkeys and my freezer will have to be full. Busy busy busy. I have a few ideas of what I will be making, the usual Made by Mum items will of course be there but I have some thoughts on other goodies. If you have any suggestions please let me know. So I better be off not a moment to loose.

Happy Weekend

Made by Mum gets Personal

Good afternoon, The snow has bee coming down thick and fast all day so I have been busy sewing up this Personalised Crayon roll. I have toyed with the idea of adding names to some of my goodies but don't like the machine stitching that you get on soo many things , so I have been playing with hand stitched applique. Its time consuming for sure but I think the results are worth the time. And so much more special for the person receiving it.

I am going to start offering the addition of names on my bamboo blankets and my quilts.
Let me know if you are interested.

Happy Saturday.
