Big Changes
This week has been a bit of a blur. The schools are back here and I have had all the emotions that go with sending your children back. My eldest has started High School and I have felt quite strange about it all week.
I better get used to feeling all mixed up because we have some big changes to come over the next few weeks. My husband has been offered a once in a life time opportunity of working in Guernsey ( one of the Channel Islands) and we are going to be heading down south shortly. I have loved living in Perthshire and I have known nothing but Scotland all my life I have only been abroad 3 times. Do you think my accent will go down well? I am going to have to talk a bit more slowly. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I think Island life will suit us and be great for the children, lots of beautiful beaches and tasty local food but leaving Scotland does hurt I have to admit.
Wish me well I have so much to organise and so much to do.
Happy weekend

Irish Chain
So today I am taking a big deep breath and showing you my irish chain progress. Please be gentle with me. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I loooooooooooooooooove it to bits I have been working on this quilt top for what seem an eternity, grabbing a 1/2 hour here and there in between orders. I have completed 63 blocks and have 18 left to do plus adding an outside border but I feel as if I'm nearly there. I have butterflies in my tummy just thinking about quilting it I can't wait. I said all along that I was going to take my time on this one no rushing and I have kept a slow steady pace. Hopefully I will have the completed top to show you all in the not too distant future.
Happy Tuesday.

Summer Sewing
Is it August already? I can't quite get my head around that. The summer weather has been so poor that it just doesn't feel like we have had much of a recharge. I have some exciting news which I will save for a little later sorry I'm just not ready to spill the beans yet. So I thought I would show you some of the sewing I have been getting through. This is only a very small sample my order book is stuffed to bursting at the mo.
Cross fingers for the sun and happy weekend.

Hi everyone how has your summer been so far? We have been sooooooo busy I can't believe that 2 weeks have flashed passed already.
I am taking notes of interest in organic cotton products. I'm thinking blankets, bibs, burp cloths, bags, wash cloths etc etc. I am ordering some totally divine fabrics I know you will love them. This will be a big new venture for me and I would love to have you all on board. Please give me an email or leave a comment.

Stocking My Cupboard
Hello all I have had the most wonderful weekend. Up to my eyes in the kitchen chopping and stirring and of course tasting at just the right moment. I love to stock up my cupboard with yummy preserves, jams, jellies and pickles so when I saw the on the vine tomatoes in my local shop I knew I would be making some ketchup, I then saw the first of the peaches and I though jam. Here's the result of my labours. So much better than shop bought, packed full of delicious goodness and not an "e" number in sight. If you would like to try either let me know and I will add the recipes.
Happy preserving.
