City Weekend Basted and ready to Quilt

Good morning all, the sun is shinning and I am loving it Spring is just around the corner. I have my whirly gig top finished and basted ready to quilt so guess what I will be doing today? I have chosen a gorgeous butter milk pale yellow for the backing, it just add some extra sunshine to the quilt. Once this is finished I will have to get a wriggle on as I have a craft fair next Saturday so I will be sewing lots of crayon rolls, purses and bibs to name a few. More details soon I will of course post pics of my creations.

Cat in the Hat Pick Me UP

Hi everyone, what a week super busy as always and my wee laddie has been unwell most of it. So a little Mummy pick me up was in order and this is what I made to cheer him up. A super cozy pair of Cat in the Hat slippers. I used a non slip fabric for the soles and quilted the outer layer with 100% cotton wadding. The lining is a super soft plush and I am delighted to report it put a much needed smile on his face. I have more to show you but that can wait till the weekend.

Whirly Gig Progress and a Geography Lesson

Hello all I have all my whirly gig blocks complete now so I have been playing with placement ( quite a while) this arrangement is my favourite. The quilt is going to be so mellow and relaxing. I hope to get the top made up tonight fingers cross, I have a few packages to make up as well. My little business has certainly brought some unexpected benefits, my geography is much improved I am more confident with the USA make up but also have been dabbling with Australia, scandinavia and of course closer to home. I think I will get a world map and start plotting where Made by Mum has visited. I love the idea that a little bit of Scotland is in so any places.

Patchwork Sneak Peak

Red Kite Community Nursery

Soo Busy!!!!

I have been soo busy this week orders are coming in often and some are bigger than others and some have special goodies so I have neglected you all. Dr Seuss Baby Quilt and Craft Fairs

Hello all can you believe we had more snow over night only a little bit but enough to wish for Spring even more. But enough of a weather moan I wanted to show my little bit of quilty progress. I have been making up little blocks in between orders just for fun and this is where I am so far, Its going to be a baby quilt. Last year I had a bit of success with my quilts not so much the larger ones as they are so fabric hungry and time consuming that they are a true luxury. But my baby quilts did sell. lots of expectant parents and grandparents are prepared to pay for a very special heirloom. So with that in mind I wanted to make a few for this years fairs. I just love how the white make the colours pop.
