Christmas Shopping and the weather
If you are anything like me at the moment the idea of doing some Christmas shopping is a non starter with the weather the way it is and set to continue for as long as forecast can be done. But Christmas won't wait and do you really want the same old same old as we all buy each year because we are stuck. My solution is simple buy handcrafted and use the internet. Make sure the person who you buy from designed and made the item,( we don't want any cheap imports) crafters love you to ask questions we are so passionate about what we make. Telling the items story is one of the most enjoyable parts in my job. I love to chat with people about what I do it gives me a connection. So please consider handcrafted, and remember that if you have seen something that I make that is not listed on my website and are interested in finding out about it please drop me and email.
Happy Wednesday.
little update - I am due to have a stall at the Green Gallery Christmas fair this weekend, at present the fair is going ahead and I am going to make every effort to get there.
Custom Christmas Stocking
Today is day 3 of being stuck because of the snow so I am glad that I have some custom orders to keep me busy. I would like to show you one of my latest, its for a lovely lady that I met at the Country Living show she bought a few of my goodies at the show and then emailed me with this Christmassy request. I love the way it turned out so bright and cheery and because I have stuffed the toe and quilted the entire stocking it hangs beautifully no sagging I hope it is on display for the whole of the festive period.
Happy Tuesday.

Custom Orders
I had a little order for some stocking gifts for a little boy so I made up a set of bamboo washcloths, a crayon roll and then I thought boys get pocket money too so I then sewed a few little zipper pouches in some funky boys fabrics, they are fully lined so should withstand coins and sent this picture to the lovely Mummy in question to choose which one. Well she bought all of them 1 for her Son and the rest to put into her present box, she is so organised that for the next 4 birthday parties she has it all sorted. A lesson to all of us, you usually end up spending less no more panic buying and the recipient gets a totally unique gift.
Happy Monday.

Well my feet are a little sore and I have nearly lost my voice, but what an experience the Country Living fair has been so far. I have spoken to soo many people. Thanks to all of you who have come and visited with me, all the encouraging comments, and sales of course have been fab. I am very much looking forward to getting home as I miss my family like you wouldn't believe I have so many cuddles and kisses to give. So one more day to go I will post a pic of my little stand when I get home. Boys draw Too!
Have you noticed that handcrafted makers often leave boys out. It is so easy to make for girls and they are very well catered for but as a Mummy to 2 girls and 2 boys it can be difficult to get the boys something that they would like. So in the interests of fairness I hope my making reflects that boys also have birthdays, christmases, holidays etc etc. So for today I would like to show you hot of my sewing table a super fun crayon roll for little men. Packed with bright colours, retro cars, motor bikes and camper van What more could you ask for? sturdy quilted body? tick, gorgeous smelling new Crayola crayons? tick and of course a velcro closure because boys don't have time to fiddle with ribbons or buttons yuck.
Happy Friday.

Stocking Fillers
I have bee cutting out and working on a several crayon rolls. I think they should do well at my various craft events (fingers crossed). They have been so popular so far. Let me talk you through this one. I have chosen some lovely fresh prints in shades of green, pink, yellow and orange. Perfect for a girl but not too girlie, it has been quilted and has binding just like a mini quilt. And to finish it of a nice wide strap with velcro so that little fingers can be independent.
Some people who have bought my crayon rolls have used them for storing all sorts of things like make up brushes and tools. They make a really useful and unusual gift for someone special.
Happy Wednesday.

Gift Baskets
Wondering about Christmas? I am always on the look out for unusual gifts that are not just for Christmas. Well what about these fabric gift baskets. You could fill them with handmade soaps, bath bombs etc or lots of lovely handmade yummy fudge , or cuddly toys or books or have me make them up as a baby gift basket with some bamboo bibs, eco facial pads, wash cloths etc. Or how about an art basket with paper, colouring in pages and one of my crayon rolls. The possibilities go on for ever. And after Christmas use them as smart storage in your little ons room.
Happy Monday.
